In mens fashion, what exactly is smart business attire?

I just got a job with a tech company and I need to show up to work in smart business attire. I'm not really sure what this is and I'm having trouble finding information about it. Please help!

Smart business attire means you need to be dressed somewhere in between casual and formal. i.e. A suit or a tie is not needed but you can not wear jeans either.

You are expected to wear trousers which could be formal trousers or khakis like dockers etc. No jeans or denim like fabrics.

    Collar Shirts.

Leather shoes- no runners or casual footwear.

    Neat hairstyles.

And the usual look fresh, mild deo/perfume, groomed look etc.

Goodluck with the new job mate!

Minimum is slacks and button shirt. But I have seen at some workplaces nicely pressed jeans with button shirts. I say Overdress the first week and then gauge how people are dressed there. The second week, just dress one notch better than most people.
